Have You Tried Our Vegan Shot?

Beetroot is a powerhouse of nutrition, supporting immunity and offers amazing health benefits. We really don’t believe any other vegetable can “beet it”!
Beetroots, commonly known as “beets” and are a popular root vegetable used in many cuisines around the world. Beets are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, some of which have medicinal properties, which is why we believed the ‘beetroot and ginger’ shot would be the perfect addition to our range.
Late last year I sat in my pristine white kitchen experimenting the composition of our new beetroot and ginger shot, not only did it leave it my worktops purple for a few days, it really did boost my energy levels and I felt more focused. Beetroot is packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants which are all vital for enhancing your health and lifestyle.  Combining beetroot with lemon and ginger is heralded for its strong defence properties, fighting against bacteria, viruses and infections.
Here are some facts you need to know:
Beetroot is full of Vitamin C, surprisingly it’s not just those oranges!
Did you know? Our bodies do not produce Vitamin C naturally therefore obtaining this from our diet is very important! Beetroot especially the root portion contain high amounts of Vitamin C so a shot a day can really help boost your Vitamin C intake.
Beetroot = Iron:
Beets are a rich source of iron, creating healthy red blood cells and help move oxygen into our blood from the lungs to the tissues. Typically Vitamin C and Zinc are known to help fight fevers and colds but iron is vital in improving our immunity. Iron is also known to help your body respond to infections. For an added boost, the dark leafy greens attached to the beetroot can also be mixed into your salad or smoothie!
Beetroot is high in folate:
Folate also known as folic acid is an essential B-Vitamin, vital for maintaining healthy cells in our bodies. Folate is also very important for growth and development during pregnancy, many women take folate when trying to conceive as it helps prepare the body and can help prevent birth defects. It also plays a crucial role in adult health because folate repairs and helps make DNA. A deficiency in folate puts our immune systems at risk and could impair immune health.  Beets can be eaten in any form, raw, cooked or juiced!
Beets have powerful cleansing properties:
Beetroot has high levels of betalain, this is what makes them crimson red and helps our liver process fats and other toxins. Beetroot has powerful detoxifying properties and helps support our hard working immune system. Our liver plays a crucial role in removing toxins and a healthy liver is vital for us to function. Occasionally after drinking or eating beetroot you may notice “pink pee” also known as beturia – don’t be alarmed, it is totally harmless!
‘Beets’ inflammation:
As we have read above Beetroot is really a marvelous source of antioxidants and ‘betalains’ can also protect our cells and tissues from inflammation. Consistent use of beetroot juice and extract has revealed reduced kidney inflammation and improved athletic performance.
Antioxidant-rich foods, like beets, help protect your body against infections and viruses.
If your immune system is needing some extra love, add our new vibrant vegan beetroot shot to your diet!
